Suncraft Engineering & Construction was started by Ben Botic in 1976 while he was working as an engineer at Martin Marietta. Ben knew that he could build a better home using the principals of his engineering background and began to build speculative homes. The early success with these homes encouraged him to take the business full time and Suncraft quickly became a respected name in the market by earning several awards in the Parade of Homes. In the mid 1980’s, Suncraft started to develop and build commercial projects. Through the years, the company has evolved into its current position as a full service design, developing and general contracting firm. As proof to its reputation for excellence, most of Suncraft’s work is from repeat customers and their referrals.
With the abundance of developers, architects and contractors in the Central Florida area, we realize that we must set ourselves apart from the rest. For starters, we have the education and experience of the large firms but provide you with the one on one personal service and low overhead that they can’t. Second, we’ve been in business in this area for over 30 years and you can rest assured that we’ll be here if you need us long after the final coat of paint has dried. Finally, we provide all of the following services to get your project completed for a one stop shopping approach:
Overall Project Development – Suncraft has the experience and capabilities to take your project from a raw piece of property or an empty shell building into a finished product. We can even help with financing if needed. We start by defining what the customer’s needs and budget are and then develop conceptual site and building plans. From that point, we transform these concepts into fully engineered plans and then push the project through zoning and permitting. Finally, we turn all the paper into reality by performing all of the general contracting duties. This allows us to specify materials that will last the test of time and keep a close eye on quality control.
Design/Build - Many companies that claim to do “Design/Build” just hire an architect to work for them rather than the owner. We take it a step further by doing the design work for many of our projects ourselves so that we don’t have to rely on someone else who has several other clients they are trying to juggle. For more complex projects, we have a team of designers that we work closely with. Either way, this allows us to specify cost saving and energy efficient products and materials that we know will work in the field and not just on paper. By providing this service, overall costs and project duration are reduced, quality is increased and errors and omissions in design are virtually eliminated.
General Contracting – In our 30+ years of business, Suncraft has been the general contractor on hundreds of thousands of square feet of new buildings, commerical interiors, and custom homes. In that time, we have built strong relationships with local subcontractors and suppliers and the various local municipalities to give us an advantage over others in the industry. Even if the client is already working with an architect, we will perform a detailed plan review to seek out value engineering ideas that may reduce the scope of work in areas that are over designed. Once the design is finalized, we will aggressively collect bids from qualified vendors to get the best price for the client without sacrificing quality or safety. We then develop the project schedule and continously monitor it during construction to ensure that we meet the owner's required completion date. Throughout the whole process, we encourage regular communication with our clients to make sure decisions are made in a timely basis and to answer any questions or concerns that may come up.
